Stories, Tech, and Curiosity: Willoughby-Eastlake Libraries Partner with Storypie

All four Willoughby-Eastlake library locations are partnering with Storypie, a locally built, cutting-edge educational storytelling app for kids ages 3-12.

To celebrate, every WEPL cardholder can unlock an extra free Storypie story, either from home or right inside the library.

What Is Storypie?

Storypie is a Cleveland-born education-through-storytelling app that turns screen time into learning time for children.

Kids can explore the world through:

  • First-person audio stories where historical figures, scientists, artists, and explorers “tell” their own stories in age-appropriate language.

  • A rich “Learn & Explore” library covering biographies, inventions, places, events, mythology, mathematics, science, technology, arts, and more.

  • Creative tools that let kids make their own stories, complete with narration, illustrations, and printable coloring pages.

  • Support for multiple ages and reading levels, with content banded for ages 3–5, 6–8, 8–10, and 10–12.

Families can use Storypie on web, iOS, and Android:

It’s kid-safe, ad-free, and designed specifically for young learners, making it a natural companion to the books, eResources, and student tools you already use with your WEPL card.

Why We’re Excited About Storypie

This partnership supports our mission to provide equitable, engaging learning opportunities for families in our community:

  • Different formats for different learning styles, Storypie combines audio, on-screen text, kid-friendly questions and answers, printable workbooks, and coloring pages so every child can engage in the way that works best for them.

  • Bite-sized entries make it easy to sneak in meaningful learning between activities, on car rides, or before bed.

  • Topics that match kids’ curiosity, from volcanoes to space, from artists to inventors, pair perfectly with the books, DVDs, and online resources you can borrow from WEPL.

  • Local roots + local access: Storypie was created in the Cleveland area and is now used by families around the world. We’re proud to offer it as part of our growing mix of digital learning tools.
