Library Card & eCard

How do I get a library card?

To get a physical, full service library card, please bring a current State of Ohio issued picture ID, such as a driver’s license, showing your current home address to one of our locations. If a state ID is unavailable, two-forms of identity are required.

How do I get a W-E eCard?

Not interested in a full-service card? Sign-up for a W-E eCard.

Is there a charge?

No. However, a full service library card replacement fee is $1.00. To replace your lost card, visit one of our locations.

How many items can I check out?

A maximum of 50 items may be borrowed on a single full service library card at one time. Extended loan periods are available for educators. Limits on digital items with W-E eCard vary per platform.

How long can I keep my items?

It depends on the item type.

How much are fines? How do I pay my fines?

Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library has eliminated overdue fines on nearly all items. The following items are excluded from the fine free policy:

If the fines or fees on your card exceed $10.00, your account will be blocked until the overdue items are returned or your account balance is reduced to less than $10.00.

If you have 5 or more items overdue, your account will be blocked until the items are returned. If an item is not returned within 21 days of the due date, you will be charged the replacement cost of the item.

Be aware that fine free only applies to W-E Library items. Items borrowed from other libraries will be subject to the fine policy of the owning library.

You can pay your fines online with a credit card by logging into My Account or you can visit any one of our four locations and pay by cash, check, or credit card.

How do I see what I have checked out?

Login to My Account or call one of our four locations. When logging in to your account, enter the number located on the back of your card in the “Library card # or username” box and enter your pin number in the “PIN/Password” box. Your pin number is usually the last four digits of your phone number.If you have forgotten your password, click “Forgot my password/PIN” at the login prompt or follow these instructions.

You can also access your account on a smartphone or tablet by downloading the CLEVNET App.

How can I renew my checked out items?

You can call any one of our four locations or sign into My Account. In My Account, click on the Checkouts tab to view your items. You may select all items on one page by checking the “Select All” box and clicking the Renew button.

CLEVNET has implemented automatic renewals of physical materials. Materials will automatically renew one day before an item is due. Materials will not automatically renew if:

  • Someone else has placed a hold on the item.
  • The item has reached its renewal limit (renewal limits vary by library system).
  • Your account is blocked due to excess fines or fees.

Fast Favorites, devices, toys, and video games cannot be renewed.

You can also renew items on a smartphone or tablet by downloading the CLEVNET App.

Where can I return my library materials?

You can return your library materials to any one of the participating CLEVNET libraries.

How do I request a book or other library material?

Search the catalog . When you find an item you want, click on the “Place Hold” button next to the right of the title details. You’ll be prompted to log in to your account if are aren’t already logged in then select a Pickup Location from the drop-down menu. Click Place Hold.

How do I know when my items are ready for pickup?

You will receive an email or text message depending upon how you requested to be notified in your library card account.

How do I find my pin number for my library card account?

Your pin number is usually the last four digits of your phone number. If you have forgotten your password, click “Forgot my password/PIN” at the login prompt or follow these instructions.

Do you accept other library cards?

We accept all library cards from participating CLEVNET libraries., although access to services like Gale Courses & hoopla are only available with a card from one of the four WEPL locations.

How do I replace my current library card with one of yours?

Bring your current card to any of our four locations and take it to the circulation or checkout desk. You will need to surrender your current card for a new WEPL card. No application is required.

Do you accept donations of used books and other items?

The Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library accepts donations of books, movies, music and magazines. You may take your donations to any of our four W-E Library locations. Please do not place items in the book drop-they must be taken inside the library. Thank you!

How do I log in to My Account

Access your account:

On the Log In screen, enter the number located on the back of your card in the “Library card # or username” box and enter your pin number in the “Password” box. Your pin number is usually the last four digits of your phone number. If you have forgotten your password, click “Forgot my password/PIN” at the login prompt or follow these instructions.

If you do not have an email address listed in your patron record, please contact us to request your password.

What if I don’t get the reset instructions? Make sure email from [email protected] is not being blocked. Has your email changed recently? If so you will have to contact your local library.

You can also access your account, renew items, and place holds from smartphone or tablet using the CLEVNET App. The app can be downloaded from the App Store on Apple devices or the Google Play store on Android devices.

What are your hours?

How do I request a meeting room?

Please call the library’s location that you are interested in using. There is no fee for non-profit groups, though an application is required. The library in the Willoughby Hills Community Center has different requirements. Click here to review the Community Center’s policy.

How do I reserve a computer?

You will need to use your library card to sign in to the computers. If you do not have a library card, you will need a guest pass. Please ask a librarian. Please return the guest pass to the desk.

How do I print from the public computers?

Printing costs $.10 per B&W copy, and $.25 per page for color. First $1 of printing is free with a CLEVNET library card. When you go to print, you will be prompted to enter your library card number. Pay the vending device next to the print station. It accepts silver colored coins (no pennies, please) and dollar and five dollar bills. Read the instructions posted near the printing station. Ask a librarian if you need help.

How do I send a fax?

Faxing can be done at the reference desk. Fax service is done during business hours, up until one half-hour before closing. Faxing is available free of charge.

Do you have a scanner for public use?

Yes, we do. Ask a librarian for help. There is no charge for scanning.

How do I connect to your wireless Internet?

On your device, find your wireless connections usually in your settings. Click or tap on the library’s name under Networks and connect. If you have trouble connecting, please see a librarian.

How do I register for a library event or program?

You can register online by visiting our online program calendar. Once you find the event you are interested in attending, click on the title of the event; then click Register Now. For Children’s program, please add the parents name and the child’s age in the Note field; for teen programs, please add the grade level. You can also sign up for an event by calling the library.

How do I receive a reminder about a program I signed up for?

To receive a phone call, please select the corresponding check box when you register. To receive email, please enter a valid email and select email notification from the drop down box. To receive a text message, make sure you enter a valid mobile number in the phone field and choose “phone” from the drop down box. NOTE: The “phone” selection in the drop down box is for text messaging, not voicemail. If you choose this option please make sure you have entered a valid phone number.
