Lights, camera, read! Introducing the Page-to-Screen Challenge

There are things in the book you could never do in a movie -Noah Hathaway

Do you agree? Disagree? Our upcoming reading challenge might give you a chance to ponder.

The temperatures are dropping, which means the annual all-ages autumn reading challenge is back! This year, participants will read great works that made it to the screen—as a film, a television series, or even both!

From 12 September- 18 December, readers of all ages can read 4 book-to-film titles from the themed lists below for a chance to win a $25 Regal Cinemas gift card and a tin of popcorn. Children do not have to adhere to the themes, as long as their selections are books that became films or TV shows. We will draw two winners. See book recommendations for all ages below the reading list, too!

Participants can repeat themes on this list. Reading 4 horror books made-into-films fulfills the requirements! Keep in mind that many book titles fit into several of these categories. For example, The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls belongs on both the nonfiction list and the banned books list.

Sign up on Beanstack or snag a paper log from your favorite Willoughby-Eastlake Library branch today for a chance to win!

Look for eBooks, audiobooks, streaming movies & TV on Libby, Hoopla, or Kanopy.
