It’s almost Christmas in July, which means that our annual Christmas in July Donation Drive and Adoption Event, in partnership with the Lake Humane Society, is almost here!
The Willowick Public Library will accept donations in the lobby to benefit the Lake Humane Society during the month of July. On Saturday, July 27th, from 10 am – 1 pm, the Willowick Library will have kittens for adoption and several dogs for you to meet. The event will be held outdoors, weather permitting.
Starting July 1, you can place your donated items beneath the Christmas Tree in the Willowick Library lobby. Do see a full wish list of items, click here.

General Shelter Needs:
- Monetary gifts to cover medical expenses
- Gift cards: Gas stations (to fuel our vehicle), Pet Supply Stores, Home Depot, etc.
- Cleaning Supplies: Bleach, liquid laundry detergent only, paper towels, toilet paper, dryer sheets
- Office Supplies: Vis-à-Vis wet erase markers, copy paper, packaging tape, postage stamps, solid color 2 pocket folders (blue, green, or yellow only), Sharpie markers, duct tape
- 40-45 gallon size garbage bags, contractor bags Swiffer Duster Pads, lint rollers
Cat & Kitten Needs:
- Dry Cat Food: Adult & Kitten Food (Purina
- One Indoor Advantage)
- Cat Litter (Clay or Feline Pine)
- Canned/Wet Cat and Pate food (Any brand)
- Cat Treats (Only USA made brands)
- Kitten milk replacement (KMR)
- Feliway diffuser refills for multi cat
- Feliway spray
- New cat toys
- Cat Nip spray & bubbles
Dog & Puppy Needs:
- Dry Dog Food: (Purina One Smartblend Chicken & Rice)
- Dog Toys (lightly used/new): Large Nylabones
- Easy Walk Harnesses (all sizes, large is most needed)
- Dog treats (Only USA made brands)
- Metal Slow Feeders
- Blank Painting Canvas for Enrichment
- Poop bags
- Flat sheets
- Martingale Collars (any size – no clips)
Small Animal Needs:
- Small Animal Toys (especially chew toys!) & Treats (for rabbits, hamsters, mice,
ferrets, guinea pigs, etc.) - Timothy Hay, Fresh greens (organic preferred)
- Small animal bedding (paper only)
- Rabbit food, guinea pig food (small bags preferred)
Medical Supply Needs:
- Disposable gowns & booties
- Distilled Water
- Pill Pocket Treats
- Syringes (all sizes)
- Syringes with Needles (3ml & 1ml)
- Hydrogen PeroxideVetrap Bandaging
- Nitrile Gloves (Medium & Large)
- Frontline Plus for dogs and cats

Please note that any supplies donated that we cannot use will be given to food banks to help other pets in need.
