WE Love Writing: Ethnosphere Literary Magazine

Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library celebrates local authors and writing-related events year-round. To that end, we are excited to feature Ethnosphere, a new online literary magazine, published out of the offices of Advanced RV in Willoughby.

Ethnosphere is an online literary magazine, without advertisements, endeavoring to give writers, photographers, artists, and anyone with a story to tell, a place to connect, express, and inspire. Created in January of 2023, we publish one issue on the first Thursday of every month. While each month has a theme, we welcome all submissions at any point. Contributors retain all rights to their stories, photography, art, etc. while giving Ethnosphere/Advanced RV the right to share their work in the digital magazine, print, and any other way they see fit for creative or promotional reasons. All written work goes through an editorial staff before it is published, and photos are also subject to editing.

Ethnosphere is a new magazine striving to grow both their readership and engagement. We are open to feedback and hope that those who aren’t interested in contributing will still read the issues and share within their circles. Help us spread light.

Where did they get the name?

Ethnosphere: the sum total of all thoughts, dreams, ideas, beliefs, myths, intuitions, and inspirations brought into being by the human imagination since the dawn of consciousness. It’s a symbol of all that we’ve accomplished and all that we can accomplish. – Wade Davis

You can read the October issue now on ethnospheremagazine.com. The theme is the Slovenian word “vedriti,” which means “to shelter from the rain.”

They are looking for submissions for the November and December issues, especially photography from Finland and Sweden. NOTE: Writing submissions do not need to be geographically themed.

Submit here: https://bit.ly/3S3HjNo

November: Hyppytyynytyydytys (Finnish): bouncy cushion satisfaction; finding joy in the small things.

December: Smultronställe (Swedish): “place of wild strawberries”; a special place discovered, treasured, returned to for solace and relaxation; a personal idyll free from stress or sadness.

Send them work, and spread the word!
