Get Out of the Armchair and into the Library
Libraries wouldn’t exist without authors and readers, and we do our best to connect the two. This season, Willoughby-Eastlake Public Library is offering a ton of opportunities for you to meet and hear from authors speak on a wide range of topics and genres. Many of these programs will be popular, so be sure to call the libraries or click on the links to get registered. Put down that book and come meet the authors!
JANUARY
In just a couple of days (3 pm on Saturday, January 18 at Willoughby Library) New York Times bestselling author Dr. Michael Roizen will speak about his book What to Eat When. This is part of a day-long event featuring programs ranging from Goal Making to Fitness and Diet. Call Willoughby Library to register for the full list of events.
Do you love Cleveland’s Rock & Roll history? Come hear Mike and Jan Olszweski speak about their book Smoky, Sweaty, Rowdy, and Loud: Tales of Cleveland’s Legendary Rock & Roll Landmarks. Wednesday, January 29 at 6:30 pm – Willoughby Library.
FEBRUARY
Are you a fan of sweet and inspiring love stories? Join us for My Amish Valentine, an Amish and inspirational fiction mini-conference and book fair. Discover new authors, meet like-minded readers and get books signed. Authors appearing at this special event include Amanda Flower, Serena B. Miller, Tracy Fredrychowski and more! How about the raucous world of Northeast Ohio burlesque from 1800s to the present: Meet author Erin O’Brien, photographer Bob Perkoski and foreword writer Mike Olszewski at this panel-style talk based on the book Rust Belt Burlesque on Wednesday, February 19 at 6:30 pm – Willoughby Library.
Are you intrigued by the true story of billionaires trying to eliminate death and aging? Meet Chip Walter, author of five books, former CNN bureau chief, prominent journalist and award-winning documentary filmmaker as he explores this hidden world in his nonfiction book Immortality Inc. The mystery of writing mysteries: Local Cleveland author Abby L. Vandiver will talk about her journey from successful self-published Amazon #1 bestselling author to teaming up with Penguin Berkley, who will publish her new Cozy mystery books beginning in spring 2020. Cleveland history buffs will be intrigued by the fascinating history of the Sisters of Notre Dame. Library Eats, a special event featuring local chefs, will include author Chef Eric Wells, who will be selling and signing his book Cooking with Chef Wells: Intimate Dinners for Two. Two other local chefs will also be appearing for this panel discussion Tuesday, April 21 at 6:30 pm Willowick Library
